Pray for the Cyclone Victims in Myanmar; Contribute to Relief Efforts

Nargis, the cyclone that hit Myanmar on May 3, is the world's worst storm disaster since 1999 when 10,000 were killed by a cyclone in India. As of this weekend, the United Nations, the Red Cross and the Red Crescent have said the death toll between 69,000 to 128,000, with over another million homeless. Although the government is permitting some foreign aid to reach the affected region, there are chronic food and water shortages, thousands without shelter, and many more in urgent need of medical care. The cyclone Nargis provides an incredible opportunity for the Church - in a nation that desperately needs the love of Christ. Pray for God’s protection over the innocent, for healing for the injured and for the government to wisely choose to do the right thing for its citizens. Pray that leaders will open further their closed society to receive help from the international community. , and that the way will be clear for US Navy ships to dock and provide aid.

Craig Pixley, our speaker on World Outreach Sunday, sent an email encouraging us to help support World Relief as they work to provide aid to the people of Myanmar. For more information on contributing, go to www.wr.org. We especially ask everyone to pray for Mark Richie who is in Myanmar to help with the relief efforts at the orphanages and the Bible College.

Ongoing Opportunities to Get Involved!

Is there a graduate in your family?

We want to recognize the graduates in our congregation by listing them in an upcoming bulletin and/or newsletter. If someone in your family is graduating from 8th grade, high school, trade school, college or graduate school, please let us know by completing the coupon below and placing it in the offering place. You may also call or email the church office with the details ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Thanks for your help – we don’t want to miss anyone!

    Camp Agapé Registration Has Begun

Register your own children or let your friends and neighbors know about the outstanding 10-week summer day camp we provide right here at EFCW. Many working parents are looking for quality childcare and others would like to provide a week or two of day camp for their children. Brochures are available at the south entrance.

Junior High Discipleship Opportunity on Tuesday Nights

Junior High students, come to Jeremy & Melissa’s house at 5:15, eat a feast made by Melissa, study the Word and get involved in an accountability group! Questions? See Jeremy or Melissa.

Can You Help Minister in the Nursery?

Would you consider helping in this ministry even if you don’t have children in the nurseries? A well-staffed nursery allows parents to worship free of concern for their children. As we all take a turn, no one has to serve very often. The schedule is made on a 4 or 5 week rotation. The more help we have, the less often people are scheduled. Thanks for considering this! Questions? Contact nursery coordinator Julie Draeger or leave a message at the church office.

Get Help with Your Spring Cleaning Projects AND Help Our Youth Group!

Spring is finally upon us, at least according to the calendar, and that means spring-cleaning. You can help support students going to Challenge 2008 in Salt Lake City this summer by using them to do some of your spring cleaning and/or odd jobs around your house. Call Jeremy at the church if you have work to be done and we will give you the names of students interested in earning support money in this way. We thank everyone who has "hired" youth group members!

--And, don't forget, 180° is also continuing to collect aluminum cans. Please drop them off alongside the garage.
