Jesus Christ died once to save each of us from the penalty of our failures to follow God's will. No human, no mere mortal can live a completely blameless life. We will slip and will fail - whether in small ways or large. Even if we were never to lose our tempers, not even when cut-off in traffic, "borrow" office supplies from our workplace, express disrespect of another's opinion, there is all the good that we should have done, but failed to do. No one who is not blameless can enter the presence of a holy, righteous God.
That would be cause for despair except for this: God so loves each and every one of us that he wants us to enjoy and delight with Him forever in Heaven. The God who knows every detail of every action you have ever done or failed to do absolutely loves you anyway! And, knowing that none of us can ever be completely holy no matter how hard we work, God provided an absolutely effective and fool-proof way of obtaining heaven: the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
As we approach Easter this year we invite you to join us for our Good Friday Service will be held on Friday, March 21 at 7 pm. Ed Raymond, Chris Marx and Gary Riendeau will share that night around a theme drawn from Pilate's statement: "What is truth?" (John 18:38) We will also share in communion, remembering the Lord's death and anticipating the celebration of His Resurrection from the dead.
And Help Us Celebrate Easter in our Newly Renovated Sanctuary
Our sanctuary renovations are nearly complete! New carpet! New seating! But, the same welcoming church family, excellent music and engaging presentations of the truth of Scripture. We look forward to worshiping in our newly remodeled sanctuary with the Easter Sunday services and look forward to sharing our new space with visitors to our church!
Membership Class Scheduled for April
After being asked about Membership Classes, Pastor Len has established the following schedule for those interested in membership. The first session will be Tuesday, April 1 from 7-9 pm here at the church (no joke!) The second session will be Sunday, April 6 from 6-8 pm. The last session will be determined by the schedule of the class members.
Our Constitution (Article IV) states that “membership shall be composed of individuals of any age who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and who give evidence by their confession and their conduct that they are living in real fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.” However, voting privileges are only available to “members of the church over the age of fifteen . . .” (By-Laws: Article III, Section B). Please call the office to sign up for membership classes by Friday, March 28 so preparations can be made.
If you have been a member "in good standing" of another church, you may have a letter of transfer sent to our Elders from your former church, interview with the Elders who then, with their approval, may recommend you for membership. You are welcome to take the classes but it may not be necessary.
Senior Adult Bible Study Meetings Tuesday March 18
Join us on March 18 as we study “Loving God’s Word: Our Standard for Truth” led by Len Sabourin. The study begins at 10 am, coffee at 9:30 am in the library.
Can You Help Minister in the Nursery?
Would you consider helping in this ministry even if you don’t have children in the nurseries? A well-staffed nursery allows parents to worship free of concern for their children. As we all take a turn, no one has to serve very often. The schedule is made on a 4 or 5 week rotation. The more help we have, the less often people are scheduled. Thanks for considering this! Questions? Contact nursery coordinator Julie Draeger at 847-487-9464 or

Mark Your Calendars Now for Missions Sunday on April 13
Our theme for Missions Sunday will be "World Relief and Development." Do you ever wonder what to do about all of the requests for money for disasters that happen around the world? Our speaker, Craig Pixley, from World Relief will help us know how to sort out all of these requests. Plan on coming and learning what the Bible says.
Transformation City News
On Easter, Transformation City will resume meeting for the entire 11:00 service. Puppets, skits, special music and activities will all be part of celebrating the most glorious moment in all history! Friends welcomed! JUST a reminder: Next Sunday, when we return to the sanctuary, TCity will meet in the multi-purpose room and kids will be picked up there following the service.
